The seventh edition of Salento International Chess Open 2018 – Ecoresort Le Sirenè has begun: 70 players form all over the world are present, under 10 nationalities, among which the fearsome brothers Andryi and Yuri Vovk both Grandmasters and winners of the tournament, three times in the last three years!
The strongest challengers are Italian Grandmaster Sabino Brunello member of the Italian olympic team and bulgarian Grandmaster Nikolov Momchil.
Among the youths, the French under 20 champion WIM Cecile Haussernot is participating as well as the youngest Alok Sinha (India), born in 2004 and WCM Eva Stepanyan (Russia), born in 2005.
